McDonald Comments on Appointment to Home Affairs Select Committe

Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East SNP MP, Stuart McDonald, has been nominated by the SNP to serve on the UK Parliament’s powerful Home Affairs Select Committee.

Mr McDonald said:

“I was pleased to be nominated by the SNP to serve on the Home Affairs Select Committee. This is a challenging committee role with the remit of examining the administration and policy of the Home Office, including issues such as counter-terrorism, surveillance and immigration.

“A lot of this work is very topical, including the migrant crisis in the Mediterranean problems at Calais and UK government plans to increase surveillance powers – and I look forward to getting involved.”
