I was really pleased to attend the The Scottish Parliament opening ceremony yesterday, with Jamie Hepburn SNP and Cllr Liz Irvine. It was particularly nice to meet up with pupils from Greenfaulds who are part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Cumbernauld Open Group and who were enjoying the excellent “Big Day Out” – which sees the Parliament opened up to all.

As well us some really powerful performances – including A Man’s A Man, Open the Doors!, Threshold – there were important speeches including from the First Minister who reminded us “We are so much stronger for the diversity that shapes us”.

The Pride Edinburgh march passed by the Parliament in the afternoon, allowing me to show support….at least for a few hundred yards!
