Public Meeting on Cumbernauld Town Centre – 9 September 2016

The challenges facing Cumbernauld’s town centre are well documented, including issues like parking, bus services and diversity of retailers.

Going forward, if the town is to meet these challenges, all of the owners and organisations responsible for the town centre need to work together to build a vibrant future for Cumbernauld – with an action plan that has the best interests of local residents at its heart.

To help with that process, Jamie Hepburn MSP and myself have been in touch with an organisation called Scotland’s Towns Partnership, who have offered to help all of those with an interest in revitalising Cumbernauld town centre to start developing a town centre action plan.

Jamie and I want to ensure the views of local residents shape that process from the very start.

We have posted out a number of surveys to residents across Cumbernauld, we have two public meetings planned and we will also circulate an online survey shortly. We want to ensure you get the opportunity to have your say.

The first of these public meetings will be on Friday 9 September 2016, at 10.00am in Cumbernauld New Town Hall. For those who cannot make a meeting during the day, please note we are also arranging an evening meeting too, and will post details shortly.
