Today I had a morning meeting with local authority representatives about problems caused by Fixed Odds Betting Terminals – next week the All Party Parliamentary Group will be hearing more evidence on this subject.
Then I took part in a debate on the issue of scamming. I’ll post more later, but one key challenge is making sure everyone realises that if you are a victim of a scam, there is support and help available. Very few people report being scammed – perhaps through embarrassment. We need to let them know they are far from alone in being defrauded by clever but utterly callous conmen. Reporting can help stop others from becoming victims too.
