This morning, alongside my SNP colleague Gavin Newlands, I asked the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Health about the UK Government’s childhood obesity strategy.

Childhood obesity is a serious problem, which places increased pressure on the NHS and puts children at risk of a lifetime of health issues,

The UK Government’s strategy has been widely criticised. A recent ‘Dispatches’ programme revealed that Theresa May’s Government completely ditched the more radical plans put forward by the previous Prime Minister – including proposals to regulate in-store offers on fatty foods and toughen rules on tv advertising being watered down or ditched
