By far the most enjoyable aspect of any election campaign is getting to speak to so many people in the constituency. And this General Election was no exception.
As an MP, a large chunk of my week has to be spent at Westminster, so that I can do the best job possible representing you in parliament.
So when I’m back home, here in the constituency, I try to squeeze in as much as I can on a Friday and over the weekends. I am elected to serve your interests, and I want to continue making as much time as possible to listen to your concerns and hopes for the future.
Parliamentary recess is our opportunity to spend more time in our constituencies, meeting local residents, organisations, businesses and contributing to community life.
Over the coming summer recess I will be out and about, chapping doors to speak to local residents and holding regular surgeries, as always. But I also want to visit as many local organisations and businesses as possible, to find out more about what you do, listen to your views and see what I can do as your MP to support you.
Supporting jobs in the local area is a huge priority for me, which is why I have already held three employment fayres in the past two years. I am also aware of the fantastic work that local organisations do for our community, which is why I have held events like a funding fayre, to help local groups access support.
I want to put together a summer programme of meetings, so if you would like me to visit your organisation or business, please just get in touch.
