We’re back in Parliament after a hectic but enjoyable recess!
As well as a Funding Fayre for local organisations and 16 surgeries across the constituency, it has been a real pleasure catching up with a whole range of local community groups and businesses. In the last few days I visited CMS Windows, who are doing some fantastic work in terms of bringing social and environmental sustainability into their manufacturing processes, and TSB, where we discussed work to combat fraud and raise awareness of this growing problem.
I enjoyed visiting East Dunbartonshire Fair Trade Group group to hear about recent campaigns and discuss the possibility of Lanarkshire also becoming a fair trade zone. And I was pleased to join parishoners of Sacred Heart and St Lucy’s in celebrating Father Campbell’s 30 years of service.
In late September/early October there is another recess (coinciding with the UK party conferences) – so if there are other groups and businesses you think I should visit, please get in touch.
